Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined household money won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households here with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college nsfas login in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
